Matthew Spires

Owner / Operator

Matthew started his apprenticeship in butchering at the age of 16. He has now been in the trade for 28 years. Working in a range of butchery settings including retail, wholesale and the abattoir, he has a comprehensive understanding of the butchering trade.

In 2015 he represented New Zealand in the Battle of the Butchers Tri-Nations Challenge on the Sharp Black team. His role on the team was boning and slicing beef, pork and lamb. When the team took on Australia and England in September 2015, the Sharp Blacks won the title.

As the owner of High Steaks Homekill, Matthew is dedicated to providing quality cuts and excellent customer service. He is looking forward to getting out on the road and meeting you.

Kristi Spires

Owner / Operator

Kristi has worked in a variety of roles prior to becoming a Mum and looking after her 3 daughters. She was a primary school teacher and has also worked in a range of customer service and managerial roles. Kristi brings a friendly and professional customer service background.
